Service prices
Prices for common computer repairs, servicing and setup. See what’s included, or tell us about your computer for an estimate.
All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Fixed service prices below apply to workshop work.
Computer diagnosis — $120 including GST
We’ll investigate the problem, explain what we find and discuss your repair options. If it’s something straightforward, we may be able to fix it during the assessment.
If additional parts or repairs are needed, we’ll provide an estimate before proceeding. The diagnostic fee applies even if you decide not to go ahead with the repair.

The right part depends on your model. These battery prices include supply and installation for supported models in normal condition. We’ll confirm compatibility, availability and timing before you bring your computer in.
MacBook battery replacement
For confirmed models in our standard adhesive-battery range, including the 13-inch 2016–2017 Touch Bar MacBook Pro (A1706).
15-inch and 16-inch MacBook battery replacement
For supported late-2016 to 2020 models that require more extensive disassembly, including the 16-inch 2019 MacBook Pro (A2141).
Windows laptop battery replacement
Includes the replacement battery and installation for compatible laptops with an ordinary removable back panel. Model-specific exceptions are quoted separately.
Mac and Windows screen replacements
Tell us your model and what’s happened to the screen. We’ll check the correct replacement and provide a price.
Software repairs and setup
Choose the service that suits your needs. Each price covers the complete service described below.
Software tune-up
Software maintenance, health checks, review of unwanted programs and minor optimisation.
Fresh operating-system installation
A fresh operating system with updates and drivers, ready for you to complete the initial setup. No data transfer or account setup.
Fresh installation with limited setup
Installation plus limited email, iCloud or equivalent sign-in, and download and activation of your existing Office software. No data transfer.
Fresh OS installation, data restore and setup
A fresh operating-system installation, restoration of your user files from one source and normal setup. This complete service is $290; the $220 transfer service is not an additional charge.
Software licences and replacement hardware are separate. We’ll discuss your files and available backups before work that could affect your data.
Moving to another computer?
If your new computer already has a working operating system, you may only need a data transfer.
Computer-to-computer data transfer
Move your files from one computer to another and complete setup on a computer that already has a working operating system. Windows applications generally need separate installation; Mac applications can transfer where compatible.
Extra source computers, failing drives and data recovery may need additional work. We’ll discuss the options and cost with you first.
Cooling and internal servicing
For computers running hot, collecting dust or making too much fan noise.
Laptop cooling-system service
Fan and heatsink cleaning, with thermal-paste service where applicable.
Desktop internal service
Inspection, component and fan cleaning, thermal service and reassembly. GPU servicing is separate.
Remote IT support
Some problems can be resolved while you’re at your computer. Remote support is charged by time.
Home users
Charged in six-minute increments of $20.
Business support
Charged in six-minute increments of $22.
A minimum six-minute charge applies. Time spent establishing the remote connection forms part of the session.

Screen replacements, storage upgrades and other repairs depend on your computer’s model and the parts required. Tell us what’s wrong and which computer you have, and we’ll provide an estimate wherever possible.
A few useful answers
Do I need to pay for diagnosis to get an estimate?
Not always. If we know the model and the problem, we can often provide an estimate without inspecting the computer. More complicated faults may require a diagnostic assessment.
What if I decide not to repair my computer?
That’s entirely your decision. If we’ve completed a diagnostic assessment, the $120 fee still applies.
Can you provide an insurance report?
Yes. We can assess your computer and prepare a written report for your insurer. The cost is $120 including GST.
